What it is today

DiscordGate started as a handful of small tools around Discord and grew into two things. A directory, where people find servers by category, tag and language, and where owners list theirs for free. And the Server Hub, where owners look after their server.

The Hub grades a server’s health from A to F, checks it again every month and sends an email when a new security issue appears. It follows member growth and engagement, and helps write announcements, rules and embeds.

Why it exists

Running a Discord community means juggling bots, permissions and a lot of manual checks, and finding a good server to join is mostly luck. At the end of 2023 we sketched a set of tools for server owners and members. DiscordGate is what came out of it.

The decisions behind it

One grade, twenty-six checks
Security and engagement problems summed up like a report card, with the details one level down.
Listings kept in sync
The community bot keeps a server’s page in sync with the server itself.
Two languages from the start
The directory launched in English and French.
Built in the open
Every version since 1.0 is written up in a public changelog.

Read the changelog for what changed in each version.

How it got here

  1. 2024

Development starts in May; the first tools go online that summer.

  2. 2025

Version 1.0 in September: the server directory, the community bot, English and French. Bumps follow in October.

  3. 2026

Version 2 in February adds the Server Hub and the health audit, followed by a full design overhaul, deeper analytics, and a new onboarding in August.

It is live and still in beta: things move quickly, and the changelog says what changed. DiscordGate is not affiliated with Discord.
